Baltimore Ravens' All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews was involved in a car accident on his way to the team's training facility on Wednesday.
Fortunately, Andrews did not sustain any apparent injuries and was evaluated by the Ravens' medical staff.
"I appreciate everyone's thoughts and well wishes. This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving," Andrews said.
Andrews joined the team for morning meetings and is expected to return to practice in the coming days.
Ravens' offensive line coach Joe D'Alessandris was hospitalized over the weekend for an acute illness requiring ongoing treatment.
"Coach D'Alessandris is widely respected and cherished in our organization. We offer him unwavering support," said head coach John Harbaugh.
George Warhop, a seasoned offensive line coach, joins the Ravens to support the team during D'Alessandris' absence.
Andrews and Coach D'Alessandris are both receiving support from the team as they focus on recovery and health.
