In his first game since the injury, Burrow didn't get hit in Saturday's preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Burrow says that getting hit would help him mentally prepare for the regular season.

Saturday marked Burrow's first preseason action since 2021, when he tore multiple left knee ligaments.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor said Burrow looked "sharp" and in control in his limited playing time.

Burrow connected with wide receiver Tee Higgins for a 10-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

The Bengals lost to the Buccaneers 17-14 in their preseason opener.

Third-round pick Jermaine Burton had two big catches for the Bengals, including a 37-yard touchdown.

Burton said he wanted to show the Bengals that they didn't make a mistake in drafting him.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor will decide whether or not Burrow will play in any more preseason games.

The Bengals will look to bounce back from their preseason loss when they face the Washington Commanders in Week 1.
